Odysseus is the son of Laertes and Anticlea. He is the king of Ithaca, an island off the southwest coast of Greece. Odysseus is viewed as one of the Odysseus plays important roles in both Homer's Illiad and Odyssey. In the Illiad, Odysseus is credited with the notion to create the Trojan Horse, wh Odysseus is married to Penelope, whose actions during Odysseus' absence have made her name synonymous with "faithfulness" and "steadfastness."
